Take your first step into medical aesthetics with our Foundation Dermal Filler & Botulinum Toxin Training Course at Emerge Aesthetics. Designed for appropriately eligible healthcare professionals, this course combines essential theoretical knowledge with practical learning to help you develop a strong foundation in aesthetic medicine.

We believe great aesthetic practice starts with more than learning a technique. It requires a sound understanding of facial anatomy, patient assessment, consultation, treatment planning, risk management and professional responsibility. Our training is designed to help you understand both the science behind aesthetic treatments and the importance of delivering care safely, ethically and with the patient’s best interests at the centre.

What will you learn?

Throughout the course, you’ll explore the core knowledge and skills that underpin foundation-level aesthetic practice, including:

  • Facial anatomy and physiology – understanding facial structures, muscles, vascular anatomy and their relevance to aesthetic treatments.

  • Dermal filler fundamentals – product characteristics, indications, treatment considerations and the principles of facial assessment.

  • Botulinum toxin theory – mechanisms of action, clinical indications, relevant facial muscles, contraindications and the importance of appropriate prescribing.

  • Consultation and patient assessment – taking medical histories, assessing suitability, managing expectations and obtaining informed consent.

  • Treatment planning – developing an individualised approach based on facial anatomy, patient goals and clinical judgement.

  • Infection prevention and clinical practice – aseptic principles, safe preparation, documentation and maintaining appropriate clinical standards.

  • Complication recognition and management – understanding potential adverse events, recognising warning signs and knowing when urgent escalation is required.

  • Aftercare and follow-up – providing clear aftercare advice, monitoring outcomes and supporting patient safety.

  • Professional and ethical responsibilities – understanding scope of practice, clinical governance and the importance of ongoing professional development.

What will you gain?

Our aim is to help you build the knowledge and foundational skills needed to progress responsibly into aesthetic practice.

By the end of the course, you will have developed a stronger understanding of facial anatomy, patient-centred treatment planning, consultation skills, risk awareness and the clinical principles behind dermal filler and botulinum toxin treatments. You’ll also gain insight into the responsibilities involved in establishing and maintaining safe aesthetic practice.

Training may include supervised practical learning, subject to the course structure, your eligibility and clinical requirements. Your next steps will depend on your prior qualifications, demonstrated competence and any additional supervision or assessment required.

Once the course is completed, you will achieve CPD accredited certification, enabling you to start-up your business with insurance & pharmacy registration.
