Understand the science. Refine your clinical skills. Prioritise patient safety.

Develop your knowledge of intramuscular vitamin therapy with our IM Vitamin Masterclass at Emerge Aesthetics. Designed for appropriately qualified healthcare professionals who meet the relevant entry requirements, this masterclass explores the clinical principles behind vitamin supplementation, intramuscular administration and safe, patient-centred care.

Vitamins play important roles in normal physiological processes, including energy metabolism, immune function, neurological health and the maintenance of healthy skin, hair and bones. However, supplementation needs vary between individuals, and intramuscular administration is appropriate only in specific clinical circumstances following suitable assessment.

At Emerge, we believe that safe treatment begins with understanding the evidence, assessing individual needs and recognising when a treatment is not indicated. Our training places clinical knowledge, appropriate patient selection and safe administration at the centre of learning.

What will you learn?

  • Vitamin physiology – explore the roles of key vitamins, including B12, biotin, vitamin C and vitamin D, in normal body function.

  • Intramuscular injection principles – understand the rationale for IM administration, relevant injection sites, anatomical landmarks and considerations for site selection.

  • Patient assessment and suitability – review medical history, allergies, contraindications, current medication and factors that may affect treatment suitability.

  • Clinical indications and limitations – understand when vitamin supplementation may be appropriate, the importance of identifying deficiency where indicated and why IM administration is not necessary for everyone.

  • Safe administration principles – explore aseptic technique, product preparation, injection technique, sharps safety and appropriate clinical documentation.

  • Medicines management – understand the importance of checking product licensing, prescribing and supply requirements, dosage instructions and relevant local protocols.

  • Complication awareness – recognise potential adverse reactions, injection-site complications and signs of serious reactions requiring urgent escalation.

  • Consultation and informed consent – communicate potential benefits, risks, alternatives and limitations clearly to support informed patient decisions.

  • Aftercare and follow-up – provide appropriate post-injection advice, document treatment and recognise when further assessment or referral is required.

What will you gain?

This masterclass is designed to strengthen your understanding of vitamin therapy and the clinical responsibilities associated with intramuscular administration.

You’ll develop a clearer understanding of vitamin physiology, patient assessment, injection safety and the importance of selecting appropriate treatments based on individual clinical needs. You’ll also explore how to recognise potential complications, maintain accurate records and work within your professional scope of practice.

Where included in the course format, practical demonstrations or supervised skills practice may provide opportunities to develop injection technique under appropriate supervision.

Our aim is to support informed clinical decision-making and responsible practice, with patient safety and evidence-informed care at the forefront.

Why train with Emerge Aesthetics?

At Emerge, we believe clinical education should combine sound theoretical knowledge with a practical understanding of patient care. Our training approach emphasises safe procedures, appropriate assessment and professional accountability.
