Microneedling is a professional skin treatment designed to improve the appearance and texture of the skin by creating controlled microchannels using fine, sterile needles. This stimulates the skin's natural wound-healing response and supports collagen and elastin production, helping to promote a smoother, firmer and more refined complexion over time.
At Emerge, microneedling may be suitable for concerns such as uneven skin texture, the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores, certain types of acne scarring and dull or lacklustre skin. Every treatment begins with a consultation to assess your skin, discuss your goals and confirm suitability.
Your treatment journey
During your appointment, your skin will be cleansed and prepared before the microneedling treatment is performed using an appropriate technique and sterile equipment. The treatment may cause temporary discomfort, warmth and redness. The depth and approach will be tailored to your skin and the concerns being addressed.
Recovery and aftercare
Immediately after treatment, your skin may appear red and feel warm, similar to mild sunburn. Temporary swelling, sensitivity, tightness, dryness or light flaking may also occur over the following days. Recovery varies depending on the intensity of treatment and your individual skin response, with redness often settling within a few days.
You will receive personalised aftercare advice, including guidance on gentle cleansing, moisturising, sun protection and avoiding potentially irritating skincare products until your skin has recovered. It is important not to pick or exfoliate peeling skin.
When will I see results?
Some clients notice an improvement in their skin's appearance as it recovers, but collagen remodelling takes time. Changes in texture and firmness develop gradually over several weeks and may require a course of treatments, depending on your concerns and treatment plan. Results vary between individuals.
At Emerge, our aim is to support your skin health with a treatment plan tailored to your needs, realistic expectations and appropriate aftercare.
