Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a treatment that uses a small sample of your own blood, which is processed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma containing a concentrated level of platelets. These platelets contain growth factors involved in the body's natural repair processes.
PRP for Skin: PRP may be considered as part of a personalised skin treatment plan to support improvements in skin texture, tone and the appearance of fine lines and scarring. It is often discussed in relation to skin rejuvenation, with results varying between individuals.
PRP for Hair: PRP may be considered for certain types of hair thinning or hair loss. Treatment involves applying the prepared plasma to the scalp, with the aim of supporting the hair follicles. Suitability depends on the underlying cause of hair loss, and sometimes a Trichoscopy may be recommended prior to treatment.
Your Treatment Journey
Your appointment begins with a consultation to review your medical history, discuss your concerns and assess suitability. A blood sample is collected and processed before the PRP is administered to the relevant treatment area using the appropriate technique.
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur following treatment. We will provide personalised aftercare guidance and discuss realistic expectations, including whether a course of treatments may be appropriate.
